Florida has one of the largest populations of veteran-owned businesses among U.S. states, according to an analysis by the Silicon Valley Business Journal, a sister publication to Tampa Bay Business Journal.

The Sunshine State is home to 185,756 veteran-owned businesses, the third most in the U.S., trailing only California and Texas.

California leads the nation in the number of veteran-owned businesses, representing 12 percent of all U.S. businesses.
