Jacksonville's tech job posting grew at a higher rate than almost any other city in the nation between August and September, according to a report by tech-focused job posting site Dice.
The local tech job posting rate was 17% throughout the third quarter 2020 that ended on Sept. 30, placing the city tied for No. 3 for growth. Ahead of the First Coast was San Antonio with 21% and San Jose with 18%. Tempe, Arizona. tied for growth with Jacksonville.
Miami also ranked high, placing the city at No. 10 for growth with a 9% increase.
Despite Jacksonville and Miami's positive growth, statewide postings dropped 5% during that time period.
When it comes to driving innovation and transformation using technology, companies have a few options, the report explains of the increase in listings.
"They can choose to rely on their current ranks of technologists, hire more to supplement their existing workforce, or rely on external support from a consultancy or business-services firm. In Q3, consultancies and business-services firms such as CACI, Infosys and Accenture ranked within the top 10 employers, suggesting that many organizations have chosen to utilize external support," the report notes.
